Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolSimon Gruber is a development engineer with 8 years of hands-on experience bridging aerospace systems and embedded/backend software, currently leading electric pump development at deltaVision in Munich. He holds an MSc in Aerospace from TUM (with study time at Instituto Superior Técnico) and has a track record in aerostructures, FEA, flight simulation and range safety from multi-year rocket project work at WARR. Simon's contributions to low-level networking code—improving the ixy user-space Intel NIC driver—show he’s comfortable deep in systems-level code as well as in mechanical and thermal engineering. He combines academic rigor (PhD student affiliation) with practical product delivery, from UAV ground stations to cryogenic thermal units, and brings a knack for clean, performance-oriented engineering across disciplines.

Contributions summary:Simon primarily focused on improving the `ixy` project, a user-space network driver. Their contributions include removing redundant declarations and unused variables/includes, indicating a focus on code cleanup and optimization. They implemented L2 address getter/setter functionality and fixed a bitmask issue related to TXDCTL, demonstrating their involvement in core driver development and functionality. The changes suggest a good understanding of the ixgbe driver's internal structure.
