Summary
👤
SeniorSimon Honigmann is a robotics software engineer with nine years of multidisciplinary experience building autonomous systems, from medical devices and ROVs to urban agriculture and aerial robots. He holds a Master's in Robotics from EPFL (94.7%) and completed thesis work at Stanford's Biomimetics and Dextrous Manipulation Lab on environment reconstruction and landing/perching planning for quadrotors. Now at Blue Origin, he combines hands-on mechatronics, firmware, and perception software to deliver robust mobile and aerial platforms. Simon is comfortable moving between hardware specification, PCB and firmware design, field testing, and algorithm development, and has a track record of translating research into practical prototypes and patents. Based in Seattle, he brings academic rigor and startup agility to complex autonomy problems and often chooses projects that bridge biology-inspired design with real-world constraints. An early portfolio of public CAD projects hints at a pragmatic maker mindset that complements his research credentials.
