Top SchoolSimon Merrick is a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with 11 years of experience building secure, cloud-native infrastructure and developer workflows from Christchurch, New Zealand. He has driven resilient AWS architectures and PCI‑level compliance as sole owner of payments infrastructure, while also shaping CI/CD, SRE-focused monitoring, and automation to reduce toil. A polyglot generalist who moved from OpenStack contributions and multi-region cloud engineering into senior cloud roles, he combines hands-on coding (Python, Go, Terraform) with strong operational discipline. Active in the community as Secretary of Python New Zealand, speaker and organiser, he brings practical open-source experience and a knack for turning compliance and operational complexity into repeatable, low-friction delivery.
