Top SchoolSimon Van Dyk is a Senior Product Engineer with 13 years of experience building user-focused software and leading engineering teams across HealthTech and FinTech. He combines hands-on implementation—from mobile apps and backend systems to ML model fine-tuning—with product strategy, having served as CTO of Wealthbit and built clinical decision support and RAG systems for Fora Health integrated with Epic EMR. Recently he fine-tuned Qwen3-0.6B to match GPT-5.1 accuracy on financial sentiment tasks at a fraction of the cost and open-sourced the models and datasets on HuggingFace. Comfortable moving between design, research, and execution, he favors projects with measurable social impact and is particularly strong at turning ambiguous problems into production-ready systems. Outside work he speaks internationally on ML and chatbots, and brings a practical maker’s mindset—whether brewing good coffee, playing guitar for his son, or photographing moments.
