Top SchoolSlobodan Utvić is a Principal Engineer with 15 years of experience designing and scaling high-throughput, event-driven systems—he’s built platforms processing billions of events monthly and led a mobile DSP handling up to 150k QPS. Comfortable from low-level profiling and memory-hunt to shaping architecture and hiring, he blends hands-on Node.js and 0mq expertise with a strong background in PHP, databases and real-time search. He has repeatedly taken systems from 0 to massive scale (NewsCurve, Trademob, Comtravo) and driven engineering growth at startups by establishing standards, CI/CD and squad-based teams. Based in Berlin, he’s also contributed examples to the zeromq.node project, reflecting a tendency to bridge open-source primitives with production needs. A former CTO in health-tech, he pairs a mathematically trained mind with a builder’s curiosity—whether optimizing Redis clusters or assembling LEGO castles.
