Senior🎓
Top SchoolStefan Kjartansson is a Senior Data Engineer based in Reykjavik with 15 years of hands-on experience building production-grade systems in Python, Rust, Go and C++ across startups and enterprise environments. He has a strong full-stack background—shipping backend services, data pipelines and React frontends—and a track record of improving performance in low-latency and high-throughput domains from HFT back offices to clinical immunology software. Stefan moves comfortably between languages and roles, having been self-employed as a full-stack developer and later shaping data-focused systems at NEC OncoImmunity, Controlant and now Varist. His pragmatic blend of systems-level optimization and product-minded engineering often surfaces in tooling and deployment automation that quietly reduce operational friction.
