Senior🎓
Top SchoolStelios Voutsinas is a software engineer with 11 years of experience building scalable data services for large European astrophysics projects, now contributing at Rubin Observatory from Tucson. He combines strong engineering fundamentals (MSc in Distributed Computing, University of Edinburgh) with hands-on expertise in Python, Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Redis, Docker and Kubernetes to process and analyse massive astronomy datasets. His background spans full-stack development, software architecture and DevOps, shaped by strict research-grade workflows—code reviews, test-first development and formal documentation. Comfortable working across academic collaborations like Gaia, Euclid and LSST, he brings a pragmatic approach to turning complex scientific requirements into production-ready, reproducible tooling. An early web-developer turned distributed-systems engineer, he often bridges researcher needs and operational realities to make big-data astronomy accessible.
