👤
SeniorStephen Fan is an Assistant Professor and researcher with a decade of experience at the intersection of blockchain, Web3, and energy systems, currently teaching computing science while advancing applications of zero-knowledge proofs and ZKML. He holds advanced degrees from the University of Alberta and progressed from industry roles at Huawei to research positions that produced web3 proof-of-concepts using Solidity, Next.js, NestJS, Hardhat/Foundry and Ethers. His work bridges rigorous academic research (including international conference presentations) with practical deployments for energy trading, anomaly detection in solar data, and provenance on distributed ledgers. Stephen combines systems-level cloud/storage expertise with hands-on ML and blockchain engineering, uniquely enabling secure, auditable energy marketplaces. He is based in Edmonton and notable for translating complex cryptographic primitives into usable prototypes for real-world energy applications.
