Top SchoolStephen Nutbrown is a Staff Software Engineer and senior engineering manager at Capital One UK with 11 years’ experience building cloud-native platforms, notably leading the design and delivery of Open Banking APIs and the customer Acquisition Journey. He blends hands-on Java development, AWS architecture (AWS Solutions Architect Professional + security specialization), and CI/CD expertise to migrate and modernize on-prem systems into resilient, event-driven AWS architectures using EventBridge and Step Functions. Frequently called in to resolve cross‑business production incidents, he pairs deep technical ownership with mentoring—guiding graduates, interns and teams to adopt cloud services. With half his degree in Management, he naturally balances the technical and organizational picture, improving processes and cross-team collaboration while managing multiple projects. An early adopter of AWS at Capital One UK, he has a practical knack for demonstrating how emerging cloud features materially speed delivery and increase resiliency.
