Senior🎓
Top SchoolStephen Tan is a software engineer and founder with eight years of experience who blends product-focused engineering at Microsoft with hands-on entrepreneurship as the creator and lead developer of CaughtUp, a social app aimed at making social life feel lighter. He pairs cloud and financial systems experience from Microsoft with full-stack startup execution—building, shipping, and iterating a consumer product while running CaughtUp LLC. Outside the keyboard he teaches parkour, bringing a discipline for iterative practice and creative problem-solving to both coaching and software design. His background spans defense- and research-adjacent internships, spacecraft design tooling, and autonomous vehicle simulation, reflecting a knack for applying rigorous engineering across domains. Based in Virginia, he thrives at the intersection of user experience and reliable systems, and is comfortable switching hats between code, product, and in-person instruction. An uncommon strength is his ability to translate physical training methodologies into rapid product learning loops that accelerate team and product improvement.
