Summary
🤩
RockstarSteven Laidlaw is a Senior Software Engineer with 11 years’ experience building full-stack, cloud-native applications and driving AI-first features at GitHub, notably on GitHub Copilot and GitHub Models. He combines deep expertise in large language model integration, serverless and high-performance HTML/content rendering pipelines that handle hundreds of millions of requests per month, with hands-on feature, security, and performance work. At GitHub he’s acted as DRI on multiple projects, mentored junior engineers, and researched replacement systems to improve developer experience and scale. Based in Perth, he brings a practical mix of engineering leadership and curiosity—an avid reader who candidly describes himself as an “inept author”—and a track record of turning generative AI research into production-ready capabilities.
