Top SchoolSumedh Datar is a software engineering manager specializing in GenAI research and engineering with nine years of experience building production-grade ML and computer vision systems for enterprise retail. An inventor with 40+ patents and 200+ citations, he has repeatedly taken ideas from zero to widely adopted products—leading initiatives that enabled the country’s first cashierless store and an AI self-checkout used by thousands. At 7‑Eleven he founded the in-house Generative AI program, architecting LLMOps pipelines, agentic systems, and domain-tuned models that serve 10,000+ users and drive measurable operational savings. He excels at extracting value from minimal data—fine-tuning small LMs on domain corpora and designing vision models for 10,000+ SKUs—and pairs deep research with hands-on engineering to ship scalable platforms. Based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area with an MS in Computer Science, he blends product-driven thinking, cross-functional leadership, and a track record of investor-recognized impact.
