Sylvia Mclaughlin
Software Developer at Canadian Digital Service (CDS) / Service numérique canadien (SNC)
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Summary
🎓
Top SchoolSylvia Mclaughlin is a pragmatic software developer with five years of focused experience and a longer history of senior engineering and project leadership across library, mobile, and public-sector domains. She has led migrations from legacy systems to modern platforms, acting as architect, lead developer and project manager to deliver end-to-end solutions including ETL, backend, and frontend components. Comfortable mentoring teams and working directly with clients, she pairs hands-on coding (C++, Perl, Python, SQL, JS) with scoping, quoting and implementation oversight. At the Canadian Digital Service she applies that blend of technical depth and client-facing delivery to public-sector projects. Sylvia’s background includes building database engines, data migration tooling and product ownership for social apps—evidence of both systems-level thinking and product sensibility. Colleagues rely on her for pragmatic, maintainable solutions and to untangle complex data and integration challenges.
