Senior🎓
Top SchoolTaapas Agrawal is a Software Engineer III at Cisco with eight years of experience blending production software engineering and academic research in reinforcement learning and multi-agent systems. He has hands-on experience building distributed databases and real-time pipelines using Kafka, MongoDB and Redis, and has moved between production roles and top-tier research internships at Mila, University of Alberta (RLAI), and Amii. His research has focused on model-based RL, embodied navigation and representation learning, and he has applied evolutionary and RL methods to coordinate humanoid robots for RoboCup competitions. A Google Summer of Code alumnus who contributed to Mercurial under the PSF, he bridges open-source practice with publishable research. Based in Bengaluru, he is open to software, corporate research or academic opportunities and is comfortable shipping scalable systems while advancing RL theory and applications. An uncommon combination in his profile is repeated transitions between enterprise engineering at Cisco and cutting-edge RL research, enabling him to translate research ideas into deployable software.
