Top SchoolTaiob Ali is a Database Solutions Manager based in Boston with over 20 years working on Microsoft Data Platform and MongoDB across on-premises and cloud environments. He leads a distributed, 24x7 data team spanning three continents, driving migrations that cut on-premises footprint by 40% and modernizing SQL Server workloads into Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse and Data Factory. A Microsoft MVP (Data Platform), he blends deep hands-on DBA skills—Always On Availability Groups, enterprise monitoring, backup and storage optimization—with cloud-native automation and runbook-driven operations. His career spans high-throughput, mission-critical systems (including large-scale healthcare and high-traffic web platforms) and practical wins such as halving pager noise and reducing backup times by 40%. Unusually for a data leader, he draws on early maritime logistics experience and a naval science degree, giving him operational discipline and global coordination instincts. He holds an MSc in Computer Science and is known for pragmatic, low-risk migration strategies that preserve uptime while modernizing infrastructure.
