Top SchoolTess Bakke is a pragmatic software engineer with 11 years of experience building full-stack web products and supporting mission-driven communities from Oakland, CA. She blends hands-on development—Node.js, React/Vue, AWS and Postgres/MongoDB—with product instincts honed as a startup co-founder and former geologist-turned-engineer. Tess has led and mentored engineering teams shipping high-traffic video and audio platforms, and recently focused on payments for subscription podcasting at Vox Media. Currently she provides community tech support, building and designing sites across Drupal, WordPress, Shopify and more for diverse clients. Comfortable switching between code, design, and client-facing roles, she brings an interdisciplinary approach and a bias toward human-centered, inclusive solutions.
