Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolThomas Luckenbach is a Principal Solutions Architect with over two decades of leadership across hardware and software markets, now focusing on database and cloud solutions for demanding, large-scale use cases. He combines hands-on pre-sales architecture and team leadership—most recently at ScyllaDB after scaling solutions engineering and hiring teams for AI and distributed analytics at Alluxio and MongoDB. Known for translating complex storage and data-management requirements into practical POCs and winning strategies, he has a strong enterprise background from roles at Oracle, NetApp, EMC and others. A talent developer and growth catalyst, he blends technical depth in distributed systems with a coach-like management style that builds repeatable pre-sales success. Based in Oakland, he brings an engineer’s rigor from degrees in mechanical engineering and operations research, and an unexpected creative counterbalance: decades-long devotion to fly fishing, which he says sharpens patience and pattern recognition in problem solving.
