Tim
Summary
👤
SeniorTim Johns is a senior engineering manager and founder with over three decades of hands-on software and leadership experience, known for taking early-stage products to revenue, product-market fit, and acquisition or sustained growth. He blends deep technical skills in TypeScript, Node.js, Vue.js, Google Cloud, and AI integrations (including OpenAI Assistants API) with pragmatic engineering leadership, preferring to lead compact cross-functional teams of around eight. Tim has built and scaled consumer-facing AI-native products—most notably an Epic Road Trip Planner that grew to 45,000 users and 50,000+ trips—while also operating at large enterprises like AWS on firmware and infrastructure projects. He’s equally comfortable architecting CI/CD, DevOps, analytics, and third-party integrations as he is writing production code, and is currently focused on secure MCP and A2A implementations in AI verticals. A serial founder and re-recruited leader, he brings entrepreneurial grit, product sensibility, and a rare span from device drivers and firmware to modern cloud-native AI services.
