Senior🎓
Top SchoolTom Buckley is a Senior Software Engineer with 12 years' experience building high-throughput, real-time streaming systems for gaming, betting, IoT and blockchain platforms. He specializes in Scala, Akka, Kafka and Docker, and has repeatedly rebuilt critical stacks to improve capacity, reliability and data migration while maintaining legacy operations. Currently at Blockdaemon, he focuses on indexing EVM and UTXO chains for analytics and staking reporting across Ethereum, Solana, Polygon and Near. Past roles at Sky Betting & Gaming, William Hill and Shepherd show deep domain knowledge in sports trading and IoT analytics, where he led Kafka/Kafka Streams-driven transformations. An ex-Lyft GitHub profile and a background in R data science hint at a curiosity for data-driven approaches and formal CS learning beyond day-to-day engineering. Based in Greater Leeds, he blends pragmatic delivery with a track record of moving complex, stateful streaming systems into production.
