Senior🎓
Top SchoolTom Christian is a senior software developer and team lead with six years in full-stack geospatial engineering and over a decade of GIS-focused experience. Based in Smithers, BC, he leads delivery at Sparkgeo, building backend systems—APIs, data pipelines, PostGIS models and devops—for Earth Observation, autonomous vehicle programmes, and social-impact projects. Comfortable across Python, TypeScript, SQL and cloud platforms, he blends standards-driven geospatial work (STAC, OGC, WMS/WFS) with pragmatic frontend and ops skills. Previously he migrated large TypeScript codebases and integrated mapping stacks at Tantalus, and has a track record of consulting for utility and municipal clients. His academic grounding in geography and GIS complements a knack for turning complex spatial requirements into reliable, production-grade systems.
