Top SchoolTom Van Tilburg is a GIS developer and geographer with 13 years of experience applying spatial databases and open-source GIS components to real-world problems in subsurface modelling, noise and air-quality consultancy, and infrastructure compliance. Trained at Vrije Universiteit on global climate proxy data collection, he transitioned to TNO where he built grid-deployed modelling pilots and risk-assessment systems for CO2 storage and geothermal projects. At dBvision and Geodan he has implemented GIS workflows and advised municipalities and major infrastructure owners on regulatory modelling and practical application of spatial data. Known for clever, pragmatic integration of spatial databases into web interfaces, he brings both research-grade geoscience understanding and hands-on IT delivery to multidisciplinary teams. An uncommon strength is his track record of translating complex geological modelling needs into user-facing tools that balance scientific rigor with operational usability.
