Top SchoolTom Zhang is a Full Stack Software Engineer and repeat founding engineer with 11 years of experience building product-focused web platforms and automated data pipelines. He’s led engineering and architecture for startups across fintech, marketplaces, and developer tools—most recently driving automated QA and web scraping at Phia and architecting a flight search/recommendation engine while at Rove (YC W24). Tom combines hands-on implementation of backend data systems and recommendation algorithms with a founder’s instinct for storytelling product-market fit, having built OrbitView to capture career narratives. Based in Old Toronto, he moves fluidly between prototyping new ventures and scaling production systems, and often pairs engineering work with roles that require product strategy and technical leadership. An entrepreneurial technologist, he favors projects that turn complex data into intuitive user experiences.
