Top SchoolTomas Aidukas is a postdoctoral researcher with 11 years of experience specializing in computational microscopy, particularly Fourier ptychography, to design high-performance, low-cost microscopes and high-speed multi-camera systems. Based at the Paul Scherrer Institut and completing doctoral work at the University of Glasgow, he blends theoretical physics training with hands-on optical engineering to push throughput and affordability in imaging. His work emphasizes practical system-level solutions that scale experimental throughput—translating complex inverse imaging algorithms into robust, multi-camera hardware. Colleagues value his ability to bridge rigorous physics, computational methods, and real-world instrument design, often finding novel trade-offs between cost, speed, and image quality.
