Senior🎓
Top SchoolTomi Kasurinen is a Principal Data Engineer with 11 years of experience building scalable data platforms and production ML systems across finance, cybersecurity, and e-commerce. He combines strong domain knowledge in capital markets with hands-on expertise in Databricks, Spark, PySpark, Airflow and cloud-native architectures (Azure and AWS), leading end-to-end personalization and content allocation systems at Zalando. Previously he designed near-real-time IoT and MLOps platforms at Solita and supported high-throughput APIs and graph-scale analytics at F-Secure, often serving as technical lead and on-call owner for critical services. Known for bridging business and engineering, he moved from risk analysis and P&L automation into data engineering, which gives him a practical appreciation for auditability and operational robustness. Based in Espoo, Finland and currently on paternity leave, Tomi is equally comfortable mentoring teams as he is diving into low-level performance tuning and platform evolution.
