Top SchoolTony Rippy is a seasoned engineering leader and research-focused software engineer with over 8 years of documented experience and a multi-decade career spanning roles from Bloomberg to Google, Two Sigma, Materialize, Datadog and now OpenAI. He brings deep expertise in building and operating large-scale, data-intensive systems—particularly storage, querying, and site reliability engineering—and has moved between hands-on engineering and senior management roles, including SVP and engineering director positions. Based in New York, he has a strong foundation in computer science and mathematics from Carnegie Mellon and a track record of translating complex research and infrastructure needs into production-grade systems. Tony’s resume reveals an unusual blend of long-tenured SRE experience at Google with later leadership in analytics and real-time systems, suggesting an ability to bridge research and product delivery. Colleagues would describe him as someone equally comfortable mentoring teams, driving architecture, and diving into low-level system details when it matters.
