Top SchoolTor Linnerud is a pragmatic CTO and serial founder with 18 years of experience building and operating web applications, currently leading ReferDB, a referral platform for mental health professionals. He combines hands-on Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Docker, and Linux expertise with a knack for shaping small, high-impact engineering teams to ship reliable products. Previously he founded Decibel and served as Technical Director at AlphaSights, bringing enterprise-grade delivery discipline to startups. Based in New York, he favors pragmatic tooling and infrastructure that minimize operational friction while enabling rapid iteration. Tor’s work reflects a focus on real-world problems—connecting trusted human networks for better health outcomes—rather than chasing buzzword tech. His background from University of Bath through long tenures at both startup and corporate environments gives him a rare blend of entrepreneurial grit and production-hardened engineering.
