Summary
👤
SeniorTuan Hoang-vu is a reliability-focused engineering leader with 12 years of experience bridging research and production systems, currently serving as Vice President at Two Sigma after a decade on its Observability Reliability Engineering team. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from NYU and has deep expertise in large-scale data management, spatio-temporal indexing, and observability tooling that began in academic projects like "Who Owns New York City" and continued in SRE roles at Uber. Tuan’s background spans full lifecycle systems work—from designing crawlers and scheduler networks at Cazoodle to building metrics collectors for Mesos/Aurora—so he brings both principled research thinking and pragmatic engineering to reliability challenges. Based in New York, he combines hands-on debugging and infrastructure automation with leadership in production observability, and his quirky GitHub bio hinting at a playful curiosity contrasts with a rigorous track record of shipping resilient systems.
