Top SchoolVarun Kamath is a Senior Research Engineer with 11 years of experience applying aerospace engineering rigor to software-driven autonomy and cyber technologies in defense and space. Based in Minneapolis, he builds high-assurance systems at Lockheed Martin ATL focusing on UAS autonomy, CUAS, and cyber R&D, and brings hands-on expertise in Python, C++, Rust, Java, ROS, and Unix. His background spans satellite detector and CDH work, swarm mechanics, non-Gaussian error prediction, and deep-space navigation modeling, combining simulation, data analysis, and low-level hardware integration. Varun has a track record of turning research contracts into modular, production-ready code across NASA, USAF, and commercial projects, and is completing an MS in Computer Science at Georgia Tech to deepen his software and systems-level skills. Notably, he moves fluidly between high-level algorithm development and embedded driver work, making him effective at bridging theory and deployed systems.
