Senior🎓
Top SchoolVignesh Gokul is an Applied Scientist with a decade of experience blending deep learning research and practical ML engineering, now working at Amazon after completing a PhD at UC San Diego. His doctoral work under Shlomo Dubnov and Manmohan Chandraker centers on generative models for content creation, cross-domain translation, and spatio-temporal data, with internships at Adobe, Unity, and Samsung that translated research into production-ready tooling. He has a strong teaching and mentoring background—guiding over 150 students across NSF-funded programs and TAing courses on ML for 3D data and statistics—which complements his research focus. Notably, he developed a single-image GAN for texture synthesis at Unity that enabled both synthetic data generation and asset variability for artists, showing a knack for creative, application-driven modeling. Based in Seattle, he pairs rigorous academic training with hands-on system-building to push generative AI from prototype to impact.
