Top SchoolVivek Kumar is a Senior Software Engineer based in Seattle with a decade of experience building scalable, production ML and data systems at companies like Microsoft, Walmart Labs, and HERE Technologies. He blends hands-on backend and big-data engineering—Spark, GCP/Airflow migrations, real-time embedding pipelines—with applied ML to deliver measurable business impact, such as a 48% increase in ad spend from a keyword bidding system. Vivek has a strong cloud-native background (AWS, GCP, container deployments and CI/CD) and a track record of reducing latency and operational cost through pragmatic architecture choices. His work spans search ads, federated search, and tooling for annotating 2D/3D data, showing comfort with both web APIs and complex ML data pipelines. He holds an MS in Data Science from the University of Washington and started his career modernizing high-traffic enterprise systems into microservices. Colleagues would describe him as an engineer who repeatedly turns research or messy legacy platforms into reliable, low-latency production services.
