Senior🎓
Top SchoolVivek Surulimuthu is a Senior Software Development Engineer specializing in applied AI, platform engineering, and developer experience with eight years of impact-driven experience. He architects production-grade AI agents and RAG systems—at Expedia Group he led projects that unlocked a $98M opportunity, slashed VRBO partner onboarding from 120 minutes to under 10, and delivered infrastructure optimizations saving $86K annually. Comfortable across React/TypeScript front-ends, Kubernetes-based backends, and model tooling (Bedrock, Langchain, LlamaIndex), he pairs hands-on engineering with product-minded system design and cross-team leadership. Vivek also advances the AI community through widely used open-source work (notably mcp-pandoc) and publications on context engineering, reflecting a research-informed approach to practical problems. He’s known for turning complex operational friction into automated, measurable outcomes—like reducing incident investigation from minutes to seconds—while mentoring teams to adopt modern testing and developer workflows.
