Top SchoolVladimir Benes is a Principal Quality Engineer with 11 years of experience leading desktop QA for RHEL releases at Red Hat, specializing in NetworkManager and a broad spectrum of physical and virtual networking technologies. He designs test strategies and coordinates distributed teams across Brno and Westford to validate desktop applications (GNOME, KDE, Mozilla) and hardware like laptops, GPUs, and Wacom tablets for major customers including IBM, Walt Disney Studios, and Pixar. Hands-on in Python and shell automation, he runs complex test labs from bare metal with hardware passthrough to KVM and AWS, and oversees CI pipelines for NetworkManager testing. His background includes creating the RHEL7 desktop test strategy and building GUI automation with dogtail, reflecting a blend of test strategy, tooling, and execution. Notably, he couples deep systems-level networking expertise (VPNs, SR-IOV, DPDK, MACsec, offloading) with pragmatic team leadership to deliver production-grade desktop releases.
