Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolVladimir Tagakov is a seasoned Android engineer and technical leader with 11 years of software experience, currently a Member of Technical Staff at xAI after six years of senior and staff roles at Lyft. He has deep, practical expertise building complex Android apps and teams—leading product architecture at Yandex, shipping Yandex Maps from scratch, and guiding cross-functional teams through volatile requirements. Vladimir is fluent in modern Android tooling and patterns (RxJava, Dagger 2, Retrofit, RecyclerView) and known for reducing boilerplate and hardening data and networking layers under real-world constraints. He pairs strong hands-on coding with systems thinking, having also designed Java web services and scaled backend components earlier in his career. Not obvious from titles: he has repeatedly solved difficult edge cases like parsing very large XML data, defending geolocation services from spoofed inputs, and enabling multi-build toolchains across Android Studio and Eclipse. Based in the United States, he brings a pragmatic, sometimes contrarian love for Android that drives continuous improvement and experimentation.
