Top SchoolWei Yao is an experienced project management leader with 13 years in construction and engineering, currently serving as Deputy Manager of the PM Department and Project Director in Pudong, Shanghai. Trained in structural engineering (MEng) and construction economics and management (MSc, UCL), he blends technical design experience with strategic PM practices gained across UK and China. Wei has led multidisciplinary delivery—from permitting and procurement to stakeholder coordination—at firms ranging from Matthew Consultants to China Haisum and Shanghai SanKai, driving process improvements and client satisfaction. He focuses on optimizing team structure and PM procedures to win new projects and elevate service quality, with hands-on familiarity in greenfield and renovation works. Colleagues describe him as honest, enthusiastic and pragmatic, favoring efficient, sensible approaches to complex program challenges. A less obvious strength is his ability to translate detailed structural and planning experience into practical, organization-level PM improvements that reduce risk and accelerate delivery.
