Top SchoolWen Lin is a cloud-native software engineer with 11 years of experience, currently building infrastructure at Microsoft Azure where he focuses on Kubernetes, service meshes (Istio, Open Service Mesh), Envoy, and observability with Prometheus and Grafana. He has a strong track record of improving system performance and maintainability—earlier roles include speeding batch processing tenfold, decoupling monoliths, and raising test coverage from 50% to 90%. As an Open Service Mesh contributor and organizer of a systems gossip meetup, he actively shapes and evangelizes cloud-native tooling in open-source communities. Comfortable across systems and platform engineering, he describes himself humorously as “on my way to be a good plumber,” reflecting a pragmatic mindset for building and improving the tools that keep production running.
