Will Cipriano
Software Engineer at Zelis
Warrington Township, Pennsylvania, United States
Summary
👤
SeniorWill Cipriano is a pragmatic software engineer with a decade of experience building full-stack, high-performance systems for healthcare and IT. At Zelis he designed APIs and databases that power Price Transparency compliance for millions, including a member lookup that queries 17M records in ~8ms and async services handling 300+ RPS. Will combines backend optimization (partitioned tables, zero-downtime updates) with frontend and CI/CD craftsmanship, and has a track record of reducing costs and migration risk from data-center to AWS. He mentors junior developers, introduces advanced design patterns to improve maintainability, and favors Python while exploring Rust, Go, and WebAssembly. Less obvious: he pairs systems-level thinking from earlier systems-admin roles (DICOM, HIPAA, Hyper-V) with hands-on product delivery, making him effective where reliability and compliance matter. Based in Pennsylvania, he’s motivated by work that measurably improves healthcare access and developer velocity.
