Top SchoolWilliam Baer is a Senior Technical Product Manager with nearly three decades of engineering and product experience, currently leading strategy and execution for AI-powered discovery across Microsoft 365. He helped architect SharePoint Online’s evolution into a hyperscale SaaS platform serving 200M+ monthly users and now drives Copilot Search as a permission-aware, enterprise-ready AI layer. William blends deep systems architecture (storage, geo-replication, resilience) with product narrative and go-to-market leadership, turning technical capabilities into sustained customer value and adoption. He’s obsessed with the practical reasons enterprise search succeeds or fails, focusing on connectors, relevance, permissions, and real-world reliability rather than tidy demos. Based in Redmond, he thrives where engineering depth, product clarity, and customer reality converge to build platforms that scale.
