Top SchoolWilliam Brafford is a Senior Software Engineer with a decade of experience building secure, reliable backend systems and developer tooling from Asheville, NC. He has driven architecture and delivery efforts at Elastic—including contributions to the high-profile Elasticsearch project—improving plugin modularity, system indices, and CI-friendly versioning for serverless deployments. William pairs deep systems and security instincts (CLI hardening, keystore protection, cross-platform testing) with practical cost- and ops-focused engineering, such as replacing DB polling with websockets to cut costs at Radiopaper. He thrives on puzzles and independent ownership, having led automation of demo and deployment pipelines, packaging, and hosted environment ops earlier in his career. Now at Dragos he continues to blend hands-on coding with operational runbooks and observability work that smooths large rollouts. Collected strengths in Java, Go, packaging, and security make him effective at taking complex distributed features from design through measurable production rollout.
