Top SchoolWillis Plummer is a seasoned full-stack software engineer in New York with 11 years of experience building pragmatic, cost-conscious systems and shipping user-facing products. He specializes in TypeScript-driven stacks (Next.js, Express, Postgres) but brings a polyglot background including Haskell, Elm, Ruby, Swift, and Java that helps him untangle legacy systems and re-platform them reliably. Willis has led migrations that simplified microservice sprawl into maintainable monoliths, re‑architected infra with Terraform and ECS, and implemented composable algorithms for real‑time generative music. He pairs technical craftsmanship with product sensibility—negotiating scope, improving developer ergonomics, and cutting hosting and licensing costs—while also contributing to cultural projects like a multimedia archive for Meredith Monk. Colleagues know him for making complex designs debuggable and for a wry appreciation of the “spirit that lives in the computer.”
