Summary
👤
SeniorXiang Zhou is a software engineer based in Sydney with 8 years' experience building scalable cloud and backend systems across fintech and SaaS, currently contributing to Atlassian’s cross-product notification and activity platforms. He has deep hands-on experience with Python, C/C++, Java/Scala, GraphQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch and AWS, and has driven measurable improvements such as a 30% cost reduction in ES clusters and dramatic pipeline and lambda performance gains. Xiang combines embedded and ML/vision interests—evidenced by self-directed projects like a self-driving RC car and a clouded smart-home chat bot with face recognition—with enterprise-grade engineering practices from load testing to cloud compliance. A pragmatic automator, he’s built CLI tooling to shrink deployment tasks from hours to minutes and designed stateful compliance workflows to close significant risk items. Persistent and mission-driven, he brings both research-minded curiosity (Udacity self-driving training, Master of IT with distinction) and production discipline to IoT, computer vision and distributed data systems.
