Top SchoolXiangmin Jiao is an associate professor in applied mathematics and computer science with 15+ years of experience bridging numerical analysis, computational geometry/topology, and high-performance computing. He previously developed production-grade multiphysics integration software at the DOE Center for Simulation of Advanced Rockets and taught at Georgia Tech before joining Stony Brook in 2007. His research spans accurate, efficient techniques for moving interfaces in combustion and materials science and computing optimal mappings between discrete surfaces for multiphysics coupling and shape matching. As PI on an NSF project, he combines theoretical numerical methods with practical software frameworks that scale on modern architectures. Based in Brookhaven, NY, he brings a rare blend of deep mathematical rigor and hands-on engineering to problems where geometry, simulation, and performance intersect.
