Xinnan Wen is a Staff Software Engineer with 11 years of experience building cloud-native networking and distributed systems, currently focused on Kubernetes and service mesh at Figma. Previously a Senior Software Engineer at Google, Xinnan contributed to Istio and Anthos Service Mesh, working on control planes, dataplanes, and production-grade Kubernetes integrations. They blend hands-on DevOps and backend skills—authoring install/benchmarking automation, telemetry setup, and upgrade testing scripts—with API-level changes like HPA v2beta2 updates and custom Kubernetes types. Comfortable across cloud providers and scale, Xinnan has shipped networking features, performance pipelines, and automation that streamlined CI/CD and load testing. Based in Sunnyvale, they pair academic training from UIUC with practical experience at Amazon Lab126 and others, and bring a pragmatic focus on observability and upgrade resilience. An often-overlooked strength is their ability to bridge low-level system fixes (ingress host/port scripts) with higher-level API design and operator status improvements.
