Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolYan-Yin Choy is a mission-driven product manager based in San Francisco with nearly a decade of product and engineering experience and over 17 years advancing civic tech, social services, and public-sector priorities. She combines strategic clarity and calm in ambiguity to align stakeholders quickly, protect team capacity, and deliver measurable outcomes—most recently enabling faster payments for state Paid Family Medical Leave claimants. Previously a software engineer at ServiceNow, she pairs technical fluency with accessibility advocacy, building themeable web components and tooling that improve developer and user experiences. Yan-Yin has deep civic roots from leading Code for San José—organizing hackathons, open data policy wins, and usability research that influenced statewide assessments—and she brings that empathy-driven research practice into product roadmaps. She scales impact through program-level planning and reusable playbooks (OKRs, IDM, metrics) that peers adopt as standards. Quietly, she often surfaces long-term effects of short-term tradeoffs, helping teams make decisions that preserve trust with government clients while preventing burnout.
