Top SchoolYasin Ehsan is a software engineer-turned-founder and scout based in San Francisco with eight years of experience building products, leading engineering teams, and winning hackathons. He led cost-saving and large-scale cloud initiatives at Capital One—filing patents and cutting AI/ML spend by roughly 50%—and has a track record of shipping full product lifecycles from prototypes to production. As CEO and co-founder of Headstarter and CTO of earlier startups, he has grown communities and teams that have gone on to YC and raised millions. Now a Speedrun Scout at a16z, he combines hands-on engineering fluency with deal instincts to back rare founders and operators. Less obvious: his background in competitive hackathons and campus cloud ambassadorships fueled both his product intuition and community-first approach to startup building.
