Senior🎓
Top SchoolYasuto Furukawa is a co-founder and location-data specialist with 11 years of experience blending academic research in ecology with practical geospatial technology and civic-tech initiatives. After research roles at Hokkaido University and a background in animal ecology, he founded MIERUNE in 2016 to provide location-based consulting and development, and serves as a Code for Japan fellow and core member of Code for Sapporo. He focuses on open data, community-driven mapping projects (notably civic tools like "ひぐまっぷ"), and promoting spatial information use in regional policy as a Ministry of Internal Affairs advisor. Comfortable bridging research, product, and community engagement, he brings a rare mix of ecological insight and hands-on geospatial engineering to regional digital transformation in Hokkaido.
