Summary
👤
SeniorYordan Ivanov is a pragmatic data engineering leader with 16 years in tech and over nine years leading data teams and infrastructure at scale, currently Head of Data Engineering at Dext. He has driven platform migrations (Redshift to Snowflake, ETL to ELT with Meltano and dbt), scaled pipelines to process billions of events per day and hundreds of terabytes while cutting Snowflake costs by 70%. His work has supported major corporate milestones including a $73M Series C and acquisitions, reflecting a blend of tactical optimization and strategic impact. Equally comfortable in hands-on engineering and people leadership, he hires, upskills teams, and embeds data practices across global organisations. Early-career full‑stack and DevOps experience informs his pragmatic architecture choices and focus on reliability (e.g., improving uptime to 99.9%). Based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, he pairs deep cloud and analytics experience with a track record of cost-conscious, scalable platform design.
