Senior🎓
Top SchoolYou-ying Li is an RD Engineer and former post-doctoral researcher with a decade of experience applying C++, Python, and ML to large-scale experimental physics at CERN and NTU. He has led development and maintenance of key analysis tools (flashgg, bprimeKit) and contributed to the CMS offline software (cmssw) by adapting data-skimming and workflow configurations for 2023 data-taking. His work spans software validation for next-generation detectors, GNN and Transformer-based jet/event classifiers, and practical ML solutions like XGBoost/TMVA for collision-point and photon identification. Comfortable in both backend/devops roles and hands-on detector testing, he bridges low-level data workflows with advanced statistical modeling. International collaborations during multi-year stints at CERN sharpened his ability to translate complex experimental requirements into production-ready analysis pipelines. He combines a PhD in Physics with a pragmatic engineering mindset, making him effective at turning cutting-edge research ideas into robust software for high-energy physics.
