Top SchoolYuhao Dong is a PhD candidate and research assistant at UIUC with nine years of experimental physics and software experience focused on neutral-atom quantum computing and qubit engineering. He works on improving physical qubits, designing logical qubits, and developing error-corrected algorithms and verifiable quantum advantage demonstrations using ytterbium atom arrays. His background combines hands-on condensed-matter experiments on NV centers and full-stack tooling—he built and maintains a Neo4j-backed React web app hosted on AWS during his undergrad. As a teaching assistant he earned high student evaluations, and he brings practical lab discipline together with software fluency to accelerate reproducible quantum experiments. Colleagues can expect a practitioner who bridges device-level experimentation with data-driven tooling and deployment.
