Senior🎓
Top SchoolYutaka Tsutano is a Motion Software Engineer at Apple with a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering and 13 years of experience spanning robotics, program analysis, signal processing, and mobile apps. He built a hybrid Android analysis framework (Jitana) presented at ICSE and plans to open-source a new Android analysis tool under a BSD-like license. His background blends surgical and UAV robotics, embedded firmware, and distributed control with commercial software delivery—he’s shipped consumer apps with millions of downloads and created popular Windows utilities dating back to the 1990s. Comfortable across C/C++11, Objective-C/Swift, C#, Python and embedded HDL/firmware, he routinely bridges hardware and software domains (e.g., integrating DSP, FPGA, and vocal pedagogy for vocoder design). Based in Cupertino, he pairs deep academic research with practical product engineering and a curiosity that spans music, photography, automobiles, and digital communications.
