Top SchoolYuzong Gao is a software engineer at Dremio with 11 years of experience building distributed systems, data infrastructure, and cloud-native backends. He focuses on core SQL engine features—UDFs, RBAC, and multi-cloud data source integrations across AWS, Azure, and GCP—leveraging Java, Spark, and Iceberg/Parquet to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. A Carnegie Mellon graduate in Scalable Systems, he combines deep academic training with hands-on startup experience as a co-founder who architected a high-traffic backend and real-time messaging platform. Comfortable across the stack, he has improved system reliability at scale and reduced operational latency through caching and cloud optimizations. Based in California, he enjoys solving complex system-design problems at the intersection of data and infrastructure and bringing pragmatic engineering to production-grade data platforms.
